Estee Lauder is not currently cruelty free because they allow their products to be tested on animals where required by law (such as in mainland China). They eliminated animal testing on their products sold in countries where it is not required more than 30 years ago, and in the summer of 2019 expanded its partnerships with the Humane Society International and Cruelty Free International with the goal of ending all cosmetic testing on animals by 2023 (see the #BeCrueltyFree campaign on social media).
